AALLOT

Harri Kuusijärvi, augmented accordion

Jori Huhtala, double bass

Mika Kallio, drums

In Harri Kuusijärvi's latest project 'Aallot', the accordionist joins forces with bassist Jori Huhtala and drummer Mika Kallio. Kuusijärvi's vision is to combine the new electronically extended accordion, which he has been developing over the past few years, with an acoustic jazz rhythm section. The result is everything you never knew you needed in life: earthy, electronic, minimalistic, Nordic, groovy—and unique.

Harri Kuusijärvi has explored accordion music from an exceptionally broad perspective. His albums have been recognized in a wide range of media, spanning classical to rock and jazz to world music. The Finnish Accordion Association named Kuusijärvi Accordionist of the Year 2023, stating that "with his open-minded projects, Kuusijärvi expands the perception of what the accordion can achieve as an instrument."

The group will release its debut album in January 2025.
